Affordable Art 2009

To the Affordable Art exhibition today, and it was busier than I’ve ever seen it before.  It was bustling inside, and when I left, the queue was out the door of the Events Centre.  Not sure whether this was a fluke or reflects a trend; but increased public interest, especially in a show where people come specifically to buy, not just to look, has to be good news for Kiwi artists.

This picture doesn’t do justice to the rich colours and tactile texture of this little piece by Taranaki artist Jill White, but it will have to do until we get some proper sunlight around here.
