How did you come to know this, reference? What should we use instead? How can we tell if our cat is suffering? Come on Ivan, you can't just drop bomb shells on us, and leave us hanging.

The vet told me when I took the cats in for their boosters. The advice is to use a stainless steel or ceramic bowl instead. You can tell if your cat is suffering if it has little scabby bits around its mouth -- and by "little" I mean speck-sized, not the sort of big pustules you normally think of when someone mentions acne. (If your cat has *those* around its mouth, I'm guessing you've already figured out that all is not well...!)
"You can't just drop bomb shells on us, and leave us hanging." That may be the most awesomely mixed metaphor ever to appear on this blog -- I think I owe you some kind of prize.
