Leave the penguins alone!

Under New Zealand law it is illegal to "disturb or harass penguins" according to this sign seen at Curio Bay in the Catlins:

Stressed penguins

Mr Evans, Ms McGowan, I'm looking at you.

These signs are common all over NZ. BTW I took a nocturnal tour of a fairy penguin colony in Tasmania, and there was a huge contrast between the ball-like chaps starting their moult, and the skinny ones just finishing it.

I will warn Jen accordingly (although urge you to remember that it's Dr, not Ms, and calling her the latter may lead to penguin harrassment).

Incidentally, delighted to hear that you have a job and seem to be settling down, but a little sad in the knowledge that it seem we have lost you permanently to the land of kakapos and penguins.
